Story

Before being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March 2020, Dan regularly enjoyed walks to the top of Wales’ highest mountain. Because he can’t now get there under his own steam, around 30 volunteer ‘Sherpas’ have agreed to give him a helping hand.

As the Sherpas are giving up their time and energy to get Dan to the top – for what might well be one last time – we’d like to make it so they don’t also need to pay too much for the privilege of doing so. And that’s why we need your help.

We’d like to fund a coach for Dan and the Sherpas from the south coast to north Wales and also pay for them to camp for two nights (one night before the climb and one night after they’ve come back down) while they’re there. We’d also like to be able to pay for Dan’s wheelchair.

If you’d like to help us make this happen, please donate what you can. Anything above the cost of putting on the event will go to our new ‘Dan’s Uphill Struggle’ charity, which will in turn share it with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and other worthy causes.
