Story

Euan, Katie, Liam and Charlie who are Scouts/Explorers from the 19th Ayrshire Kilwinning scout troop would like to give you the opportunity to help fund their dream trip to the 24th World Scout Jamboree which will be staged in West Virginia, USA. This event attracts over 45,000 scouts and guides from all over the world and is themed as “Unlock a New World” This speaks to the new adventures, cultures and friendships that will be shared by Scouts from 161 National Scouting associations.

This will not only give each of them an opportunity to develop personally but will have a positive longer impact on Scouting life and beyond. Our returning young people will be equipped to inspire others to develop skills and postive attitudes for life, enhancing our local community..

Our young people had to go through a selection process and are the only 4 from North Ayrshire and Arran that were selected. To do this each one had to apply and then attend a selection camp where they used their practical knowledge of Scouting, how they could work together with people they didn’t know and how to encourage and develop a team spirit.

Any financial support would be greatly appreciated by them and they will also be fundraising in other ways throughout the year so this will be updated with events that you may wish to attend.
