Story
walking from Oxford to Windsor following the river Thames 60 miles in 2 & 1/2 days
The second leg of the thames.
This year Band of brothers are coming together for their biggest annual walk yet for Jackson’s smile. 27th 28th and 29th April 2022. Darren garwood, mark garwood, steve king, craig armitage (jacksons dad, uncles and grandad ) will be walking oxford to windsor following the Thames.
We are raising money to go towards a special travel sytem for Jackson, so he can legally lay down in the car so we can all go out safely as a family so we can continue to make memories.
jackson finds it very difficult to sit up as he cant control hos saliva which can end up in his lungs which can be cery dangerous. so laying him down is the best and safest option
normally one of us have to stay at home with jackson but this travel system could change everything.
😍For those of you that do not know Jackson’s story; Jackson has a rare disease- Krabbes. Krabbes is a life limiting disease which gave Jackson a life expectancy of 2. Starting life as a normal baby until 7 months when he started losing vital skills. Shortly after his 1st birthday we received the devastating diagnosis of Krabbes. Jackson is soon to be 8! 💪🏻 We have followed our own path with his care. He has a specialised organic diet, takes CBD oil and uses a hyperbaric chamber regularly. He is now fully dependent on us. He is immobile, cannot speak and sadly lost his laugh a while ago but it does return ocasionally. But he communicates in his own way, Jackson loves being read to sung to and enjoys as many cuddles he can get. It is our mission to give him as many life experiences, as much love and the best quality of life whilst he is here.
thank you so much for your support Xxxx
