Story

Our local ATC cadet squadron currently borrow, hire or share a vehicle when they need to attend events throughout the UK. This year has been an exceptionally busy year as they celebrate 100 years of the RAF. In an effort to reduce costs and increase flexibility the group have worked hard fundraising to purchase a 17-seat minibus. This will allow them to attend more events in late 2018 and 2019.

Last year we supported Rossendale Hospice when we entered the screwball rally and we are fundraising for another great local youth group in the 1969 ATC. All the volunteers and staff give their time freely and without wages.

The rally itself is unusual as it doesn’t raise money for just one charity but encourages you to support your own chosen charity.

For those unfamiliar with the event, the Screwball Rally involves buying an old car with a value of no more than £750, customising it and driving it around Europe covering just over 1800 miles throughout eight countries over five days starting on 20th until 24th September 2018.
