Story
Darren is currently in the Spinal Rehabilitation Unit at Salisbury Hospital, he has progressed well but can’t come home until our house has been adapted. Planning has been approved for building work but while we are in lock down it is unknown when this can start and finish. We wont be able to afford these adaptations without the generous support we are continuing to receive.
The initial ‘Just Giving’ page, set up by Darren’s Inspector, has come to an end but as people are still asking how they can donate we have set up this page for ongoing fundraising. The reality is that to get Darren home with an adapted extension and equipment we still need to fundraise.
’Thank you’ doesn’t go far enough to express the gratitude we have for the people from all over the world who donated money and left heartfelt messages. We are also very grateful for our family and friends and the ‘Police family’ who continue to offer their support.

PC Darren Triggs, 37, a serving Sussex Police Officer of 12 years has tragically suffered from a blood clot on his spine causing him to become paralysed below the chest.
On the morning of the 3rd of December 2019 Darren was at home with his wife, Rosie, who was 7 months pregnant and two young children Daisy, 4 and Amelie, 23 months. He woke feeling a pain in his chest and a gradual numbness in his legs. He was rushed into surgery to remove a bloodclot on his spine and to stop the swelling increasing.
Being paralysed from the chest down has changed Darren’s life forever but his biggest concern is that he cant be the Dad he wanted to be. He will require a number of aids and adaptations to assist him in living an independent life as a wheelchair user and we are hoping to raise funds to support this.
