Story

This is our chance as a bmx community to help a bmx brother and his family during trying times for them.
Darren was diagnosed with kidney failure nearly 4 years ago and became too unwell to work around 3 and half years ago. They are a regular family with mom working hard in a full time job and two young boys to support. Losing Darren's wage means that they are struggling to support themselves month by month. The wages Laura earns plus the minimal amount of benefits Darren qualifies for just barely cover the bills and daily living expenses etc. After 3 years of struggling the small amount of savings and a small redundancy package Laura took last year has now been used up so they have nothing left. Darren has to leave the bmx scene for a while to concentrate on his health and family so you may have noticed he has been selling the last of his bmx paraphernalia to try and raise some money to help support his family. As a community both bmx and wider, surely we can find it in us to help a brother out??? Id like to think that someone would do the same for me if it was ever needed. Darren isn't the kind of lad to ever ask for help and I only realised just what his situation was like when I started talking to him in more depth after I bought some handlebars from him. I heard his story and wanted to help so with his permission I wanted to start this page and support a fellow bmx brother. Please donate if and what you can and/or share this Crowd funding page and let's do what we can for Darren and his young family.
