    Story

From the well-renowed comedy writer & actor behind 'Hayfields' and 'Demoted' comes a brand new, hilarious narrative following the life of a young man as he attempts dating, once again, after losing his first love.

The short film tackles personal emotions and issues that were once felt by the creator and makes light of some of the tragic feelings one undergoes after losing someone you love.

    About the writer.

James Bartlett created his first production in July of 2017 with the pilot episode of a mockumentary entitled 'Demoted' which was screened for 150 people in a private cinema. The money raised was donated to charity and it further raised funds from a limited DVD release.

This was exceptional due to the production having no budget at all.

It received brilliant reviews from those viewing it with a few of them saying:

Best independent short film I've ever seen.

Overall it came across extremely professionally. It was genuinely funny and well written.

You are a very talented bunch and the writing/direction was excellent.

From then forth, James pushed himself to create something bigger. He then started to write a new series. A six part mockumentary entitled 'Hayfields'.

In September of 2017, Shaun Garbutt - a close friend of James' - came on board as a producer and the two of them started searching for their cast on the popular website known as 'StarNow'.

They received an overwhelming response including an industry producer coming onboard, working alongside Shaun, to get the series on a network. This was a huge leap forward as initially, 'Hayfields' was intended to be only a web series.

Now, less than a year later, 'Hayfields' has received interest from multiple major UK networks as well as having attracted some huge stars from the television & film industry such as Ian Beattie, an actor known for his role as Ser Meryn Trant in 'Game of Thrones'.

    About the project.

The short film, as previously mentioned, is a comedically brilliant narrative following a young man who begins dating again after losing his first love. His high school sweetheart.

The aim of the film is to provide hope for those who are going through a similar situation to the protagonist as losing someone you love can be difficult. It's relateable and most people can say, without a doubt, they've experienced something simiar to this first hand.

Doing so in such a comedic way provides a light for those struggling with post-breakup feelings and emotions.

James will be credited as the writer, director and the leading character of the production.

We are aiming to raise £300 to cover the expenses for the cast & crew as well as solidify any resources and locations that will be necessary for the filming stage of this production.

What do we hope to do with the final cut? Ideally, we'd love to submit this to film festivals and see just exactly what we can acheive and who we can help with this narrative.

All donations made will be credited and some amazing incentives will be offered if we reach our goal. We'd really appreciate your help. If you've been through a breakup, you know how it feels. Help us make light of the devestation and potentially help someone pull through and discover that it does get easier.
