Hi my name is Dave, And I am a trustee and head of Fundraising raising money for a fantastic charity called Wirral Heart Beat, I became involved with the charity In 2011when I was referred to them due to undergoing major heart surgery at Broad Green Hospital, Where I spent 9 days in the high dependency unit, after having my autoerotic valve replaced, root valve repaired and a Heart bypass, As you can imagine this took its toll on my life to the point I had to give up work, this knocked my confidence in every way and It took a while before I was back to good health. The team at Wirral Heart Beat are truly amazing at what they do. The first time you visit your made to feel welcome and safe, They guide you on how to get yourself back to good health working closely with you in the centre, They do this by taking you though a 20 week program split into two parts, an 8 week chair exercise program to help you build your strength back up, and a 12 week gym program. At the end of the 20 week program you are offered to attend our out reach program in which you can use the gyms in the local Wirral fire station's which are provided by Wirral Heart Beat, or you can go to the cardio fit class run by our heart nurses.
Wirral Heart Beat is a non profit charity and raise all their money independently by holding charity night's, charity walks, and so much more. Just on the 8th and 9th of July 2017 we Raised a massive £800+ thanks to the support of the public. This money will be used to not only help with the up keep of our Gym's but also help keep our Gym equipment up to date, not to mention keep our classes up and running. we also help buy medical equipment to help the GP'S of Wirral keep their patients safe and well in the home.
