I'm doing an ultra swim 33.3km over a few days in Montenegro starting 4th October raising £1,000 for Blair or Wee B to his friends A young lad that during his first weeks of life, several medical conditions went undiagnosed. He experienced low oxygen levels and was subsequently diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Blair also has glaucoma, hearing loss, epilepsy and a genetic condition so rare that it has no recognised name, known medically as a duplication of chromosome 3q24–q29.

His first operation took place when he was just three months old in an effort to protect his vision. Since then, Blair has undergone more than a dozen operations, including palate repair, hip surgery, eye surgery and procedures relating to complex ENT issues.

Following hip surgery in March 2026, Blair's epilepsy became increasingly difficult to control, and he was subsequently diagnosed with refractory, or drug-resistant, epilepsy.

The increase in seizures and medication has had a significant impact on his physical abilities. Where Blair was previously able to move around his home largely unaided, he now requires greater support from his family and his walking frame.

His family are adapting their home to make everyday life safer and more comfortable while giving Blair as much independence and dignity as possible.

A recent fundraiser raised close to £10,000 and the local authority is contributing towards specific elements of the project.

However, a further £9,026.38 is required for adaptations and equipment not fully covered by the available funding.
