Staff at Cliffdale Primary Academy are currently trying to raise funds for a new school minibus so that the pupils can continue to get out and about in the community as well as attend sports events. Learning takes place in and out of the classroom and, in order to make learning come alive and relevant to the pupils, school trips are essential!

The pupils at Cliffdale Primary Academy all have special educational needs. In addition to their learning difficulties many of the children have additional disabilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Fragile X.

Staff at Cliffdale Primary Academy are doing the 14 mile Langstone Harbour Waterside Sponsored Walk to raise funds! The staff are hoping however that by having a Just Giving' crowd funding page it will help boost the fundraising considerably and make the goal of gaining another minibus achievable.

The school has raised some funds towards acquiring a minibus through Christmas and Summer Fayres and mini-sponsored walks, that the pupils participate in, but it is harder for the school to generate large amounts of money however through fundraising because Cliffdale Primary Academy is a small school. Only 116 pupils attend the school! This means there are fewer families and parents to help towards generating monies towards purchasing a new minibus!

Crowd funding has caught the staffs' attention and it is hoped that by making the public aware of the school's need for a new and safe minibus it will help towards creating the funds needed.

If the school can generate at least £18000.00, other charities like Variety Club can help towards funding the excess amount! Cliffdale however have to be seen to be making an effort towards achieving the initial amount.

It is hoped that this 'story' outlines the predicament that Cliffdale Primary Academy face. The safety and happiness of the pupils is paramount and a new minibus for the school is essential!
