    Story

For many people December is the most enjoyable month of the year - a month full of celebrations, family gatherings and love. However, for the hundreds of homeless people in Bedford, it is surely the worst month by a long way. The nights get to freezing point and the streets are full of happy people sharing the festive spirit. The Prebend Centre, though, in the heart of Bedford, offers somewhere where support can be given. Their website declares that they have over two hundred homeless visitors per month who, between them, visit almost two thousand times in that space of time. We are planning to show our support for them for the noble work they do!

    THE PLAN:
One Saturday night in December Dave Marsham, Qahir Damani, Matt Herridge, Daniel Breeze, Sean Carter, James Davies, Jon Hough, Carly Watkins and Terry Spencer (plus Monty the dog) will be spending the night homeless in Bedford. We will have no luxuries and nothing more than what the average homeless person has and are aiming to raise £1500 for The Prebend Centre at a time when funds are most needed. This is not an example of someone doing something they've always wanted to raise money for a charity - this is a group of people doing something no-one should ever have to do; sleep outside in freezing conditions to raise money for those who do it daily.

Please dig deep, please spare us a score, a tenner, a fiver, whatever you can afford. If we can each raise £200 we could have £2000 total for this amazing Centre who work to support the most vulnerable people in our local town where we all work as teachers. These homeless people are someone's children, someone's former students; possibly our former students.
