Story

On the 22nd of November 2024 at noon Dave Walker and Davie Flett will start their quest to gain a British and World record on the Concept 2 indoor rower. We will be attempting to break a continuous row record for our age group. The record was set in 2022 and stands at 24hours 30 minutes and 40.2 seconds. We will be adopting a 90minute row and 90 minute rest shift pattern for the duration of the challenge in which we can refuel and rest our bodies.

We hope to raise a few pounds in the process and have chosen two local charities to benefit from any monies raised.

The first charity is Crossroads Care Orkney who have been supporting carers of all ages and disabilities in Orkney for just over 30 years now. More info on Crossroads Care can be found at https://www.crossroadsorkney.co.uk

The second charity we are supporting is Orkney Rowing Club Sco47947. ORC aren’t just a sports club but are also a registered charity. Since the formation of the club 10 years ago they have supported various local charities with over £50k being given out to local charities. You can follow Orkney Rowing Club Sco47947 on social media.https://www.facebook.com/orkneyrowingclub

We both would like to thank everyone for your support with this challenge.
