Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Our Mission/The Project.
This weekend our container and all the matchday and training contents were destroyed by fire, started by vandals, at the Northfield site. The response to help us from local businesses and other sports clubs in the area has been fantastic and in the true community and rugby spirit. We are very grateful but still need help to raise enough funds, not only for the ongoing project but now to replace the container and its contents as well as improve security at the site.
Wibsey Rugby Club are currently working with Bradford Council and other partners, to take on the Northfield playing site lease and transform Northfield for the benefit of players and schools in the village and surrounding area. The idea is to initially create an additional pitch to play on. This project is coupled with improving the Clubhouse which is located on the main street in Wibsey. This will enable the Club to provide a Community hub for activities both on and off the field for all ages within the Wibsey Community and beyond.
Chairman Steve Brooke “Our plans are to develop the older all-weather pitch and then, where you go in at the entrance, a 3G pitch so we can rent it out. It’s a long-term plan for the site as it’s a 25-year lease. Also short term improve our existing Clubhouse and long term put a new clubhouse up there at Northfield.”
Wibsey operates several male and female junior and adult teams from its current base, covering rugby league, rugby union and football. These exciting plans will enable the participation numbers to increase for all sections of the club.
The Clubhouse currently hosts several meeting groups and also provides the changing rooms for the teams. With better Clubhouse facilities the number of community group events and playing teams can increase alongside the increased participation from the new pitches.
Work is due to start on putting up fencing, gates , dugouts and padlocking the main entrance, though there will still be access further up the site, to make it the site safer.
Once the project is complete there will be increased employment opportunities, more volunteer opportunities and most importantly a real Community outreach to all ages and financial backgrounds to be able to enjoy these facilities.
Work is underway to try raise funds through the relevant governing bodies and also other financial benefactors but we need to have sufficient start-up funds to get the project moving. £5,000 will help us do this
Any contribution, no matter how large or small, will be gratefully received by the Northfield Committee.

Times Nearly Up! Our appeal ends next week. The Club would like to thank all those who have donated. Too many to thank personally but without you we would not have raised the £1680 (less JustGiving fees) that we have so far. We already have plans in place to replace the fence around the grounds and to improve security as our first task. You may have seen what damage the vandals have caused and we have to secure the grounds for the future. This is one last appeal for funds as we close the page down next week. Wibsey Rugby Club.
