I recently attended some seminars in Cape Town organised by the World Bridge Federation in conjunction with the African Bridge Federation. Part of the programme included the promotion of Youth Bridge in Africa. The Botswana Bridge Federation has encouraged 1,000 young people to participate in its Youth Development Programme. It is desperately short of financial resources to continue its work.

The World Bridge Federation is recognised by the International Olympic Committee as an International Sport Federation. Gianarrigo Rona, President of the World Bridge Federation, supports this worthy cause and requests people to give their support to promote youth bridge.

The African Bridge Federation is the Zonal Conference for bridge in the continent of Africa. Bernard Pascal, President of the African Bridge Federation, urges people to give their support to help the Botswana Bridge Federation to continue with its great work in encouraging young people to play bridge.

In September I will be trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro and invite people to sponsor my efforts by contributing towards this deserving cause. All money raised will be given to the Botswana Bridge Federation.
