Story

We are raising £750

The 16th Newtownabbey Boys' Brigade Company are based in the Belfast City Mission's Rathcoole Hall. On the 29th October 25 the officers and boys of the Company Section will take part in a sponsored indoor row on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK & Company Funds.

We have chosen this particular charity in memory of Paul Frazer, the father of our Old Boy Daniel, brother of Mark who, along with sons Simon and Jonny, are also Old Boys of the Company. Prostate cancer has had a big impact on the Frazer family over the last few years. They lost Paul in 2023, and his brothers Brian, Uel and Mark have all had treatment for prostate cancer since. Also one of our current officers, and former Company Captain, Dennis Murray, is a Prostate Cancer Survivor'

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

We’re going the distance in The Big Rowing Race to raise money for lifesaving research that will find better tests to diagnose men sooner.

Your donation will help create a future where early diagnosis saves lives. Thank you for your support
