    Story

David McClean is just the greatest! Loving husband to Dawn, the best Dad to Charlotte (me) and Christopher. He always puts others before himself, and never takes a minute to relax (i don't think he knows what that word means).
On the 13th September he was planning for a cycling trip (long term member of Ballymena Road Club) to Geneva with friends which was then interrupted by a headache. In standard Davy style, he took a few paracetamol and never complained. After 2 weeks of scans and tests in Antrim Area Hospital and 1 week in the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast undergoing an open biopsy; he was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma (a very dangerous and aggressive form of brain cancer).
After having already beaten cancer in the leg (Sarcoma) two years ago, the news was devastating that a different type of cancer had formed. He has just undergone "fully awake" brain surgery at the University College of London Hospital. The surgeon successfully removed both tumours and Dad starts chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment after Christmas. Immediately after this he MUST start pioneering Immunotherapy, which will save his life.
It's not available on the NHS and we have a very limited amount of time to raise money to fund it. Dad's a fighter and we are not giving up either. We can't do it on our own so this time we are asking for help! If we can't fund this treatment, the aggressive brain cancer will be back within the year.
Dad is only 52 and still got so much to give!
We have had to close our other Just Giving Page to use the funds to pay for Dads treatment. An amazing £46,689.00 was raised solely on peoples generosity, and we can't thank everyone enough for the support and encouragement we've received! Please, please help us to continue raising the much needed funds by sharing this page and donating, no matter how small you think it is, you help us to save his life!
