Story
Steve, David and Ben (two of the volunteer coaches and a parent of Poppleton under 8’s grass roots football) will be raising money for - Martin House children’s hospice and the boys of Poppleton under 8’s grassroots football.
The challenge:
Steve, Ben and myself will be looking to cycle the “way of the roses”, Morecambe bay to Bridlington (coast to coast) an eye watering 170 miles, within a 24hr period. Steve has only just sorted a bike for himself...
Half the money raised will go to the excellent work done by Martin House Hospice.
Martin House provides family-led care for children and young people, and their families, from across West, North and East Yorkshire. Services include respite care, symptom control, emergency care, community care, end of life care and bereavement support. It costs in excess of £5.5 million each year to provide these services, the majority of which comes from voluntary donations and fundraising.
The other half will go to the under 8’s, to help cover the cost of Kit, training equipment, indoor winter training facility and the odd treat for the boys. A great set of kids who always give their best and are a credit to themselves and grass roots football.
Anything you can spare, will go a long way.
