Story

Mr O’Neil will be taking on another summer running challenge to raise funds for ALDER HEY, THE HOSPICE OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD & THE ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY (Money will be divided equally)
5 half marathons (13.1 miles) in 5 consecutive days, prior to school on the week beginning Monday 30 June.
Target time – 2 hours
Hopefully friends, colleagues and CRR running club members will join Mr O at different points and different days to run all or part of the set route. Please do NOT park on The King’s school site unless you are member of staff.
Departure – 0545 each day from the SS bus park EXIT lane (running at 9min/mile pace) Route
• A loop (anticlockwise) around the business park
• Head past The King’s School , use the pedestrian crossings on A483 to join Duke’s Drive.
• Run to the end of Duke’s Drive -> right turn over A55 bridge towards Eccleston
(Eaton Rd)
• Eccleston – left then right (Paddock Rd) towards the Duke of Westminster’s estate.
• Left turn down the hill to the River Dee
• Return to Chester along the river path and meadows
• Under Suspension bridge -> cross over the Old Dee Bridge
• Riverside Promenade for a lap around The Roodee Racecourse
• Turn right (near Holiday inn Express) to join the bottom of Watergate St then right on Nuns Rd
• Cross lights to Castle Drive back over the Old Dee Bridge
• Right at the Ship Inn (park)
• Stay on River Lane path and up 'Dingle’ to the end. A loop around Curzon Park North/Earlsway/Park Rd West and Selkirk Rd-> Hough Green -> Cliveden Rd -> Lache Park Avenue -> Lache Lane -> Castle Croft Rd towards the Wez Park shops-> Sherbourne Avenue -> Fir Tree Ave
• Rejoin the pavement on Wrexham to check mileage
Drinks stations & much needed support would be welcome at the following points
1. Parking zone just before joining the river path (4.5 miles)
2. Ship Inn (grass area)
