Story

On the 25th August I'll be running the Peak Trails 50, a 50 mile fell race through the Peak District, to raise money for Salam LADC and the work they carry out for those who are displaced and vulnerable across the Beqaa Valley, Lebanon.

Salam LADC (Lebanese Association for Development & Communication) was founded in 2006 as a response to the conflict with Israel, focusing on strengthening the dialogue between displaced people and their host communities. Over the years it has conducted many important projects, such as setting up libraries in prisons and enabling higher education to Syrian refugees.

Today Salam LADC provides a platform for volunteers, grassroots initiatives, and private and institutional donors to coordinate their efforts towards assisting and empowering refugee and other vulnerable populations across Lebanon - regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.

In 2016 I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks volunteering in the Beqaa Valley with Salam LADC, seeing first hand the vital work that was being delivered by the team. I'm now hoping to raise money for Salam to help fund one of their many projects, and what better way then by dragging my sorry ass up and down the hills of the Peak District.

Any donation you can spare really will be appreciated and will go a long way in helping those less fortunate than us.

Thanks,

Dave
