This is our lovely westie Boy Sidney

he is 14 years old and has contracted the dreadfully debilitating disease

"westie Lung " also called fibrosis which makes it very difficult for him to breath

and function as his lungs slowly fill with fluid. In humans this disease is often referred to as COPD or emphysema.

sid was diagnosed 6 months ago and we have resorted to helping him down the usual route of steroids & antibiotics this we have found vert troubling as the steroids

and prolonged useage impact further on his already failing health. We have researched alternative therapies for Sid but I'm afraid these therapies all come

at a staggering financial cost which we can not afford to cover.

currently Sid is on a regime of taking 4 tablets a day of alternative medication which is an amino acid which attacks the fibrosis in his lungs, obviously Sid needs to see the vets quite regularly to see how his condition is progressing & to make sure he is

doing ok. The amino acid Sid takes is not cheap but it's destroyed and lessened his cough which was extremely debilitating to him we feel the treatment has improved little Sids life considerably.

as I'm disabled & recieve very little I am finding it very difficult to purchase Sids

treatment every month that plus regular check ups is unsustainable for me & I want the best for Sid he's given us so much joy & still does he's a happy little soul who loves nothing more than to chase a ball ( this unfortunatley) he can no longer do

but he does carry his ball with him for a short time before it interfereswith his breathing. We are trying to raise these funds so that we can buy a supply of his tablets & any unexpected vets fees that might happen. We love our pets unfortunately we can not see into the future and realise that we too will one day become disabled and unable to function please would you give so that we can at least insure Sid can continue his current treatment.unfortunatley we know this disease will eventually take our beloved Boy but this treatment is currently helping him to stay stronger and healthier for those precious months that lie ahead.
