Story
Wilfred 'Billy' Minter is St Albans City and Hertfordshire's record goalscorer who won three England Amateur International caps. But at the end of his life he was buried in an unmarked grave. Earlier this year £1600 was raised towards the £2700 required to give him a fitting memorial. That was before permission was granted for a headstone to be erected. Now, we are delighted to announce that permission has been granted and donations for the outstanding funds are invited. St Albans, both the City Football Club and the city itself, have enjoyed wonderful exposure through Wilf's exploits. Now it is time to repay the great man, who was St Albans born and bred, with a suitable headstone at his final resting place.
