Story
In the Philippines the are many Orphanages, poor Barangay's and local Indigenous tribes. The children of the orphanages have to leave at the age of 16 and most end up back on the streets where they were found. The people of the Barangay's and Indigenous villages are very poor & have no money to provide sport activities and clothing. Clark Jets 5 years ago set up a club from taking children out of the Orphanages every week to teach them Rugby and teach them values. With a pathway for when they left the Orphanage they would be able to interact properly, the club also tries to find work and accommodation so that they do not have to go back to the streets. This was so successful that the Club expanded into helping other sections of the community, the club has created a programme that is so successful that they now have 4 teams at all levels actually competing in the Philippine Rugby system and have been successful and winning trophies, this installs belief into the children and helps them on the next step in life. Clark Jets want to continue this project and indeed spread it to other ares of the Philippines, they also want to now increase the pathway and find opportunities in the UK for the players once they are of University age, this is a link being developed between Clark Jets and Canterbury Rugby Club in Kent but can only be successful with money, and so donating a little really would mean a lot - Thank you for reading and I hope you can help - anymore information can be found by emailing Clarkjets@hotmail.com

8 years agoThank you to all of you that have donated so far, what we have raised so far will make a massive differnec- it will pay for collecting the kids from where they live and take them to training for six months or will be enough to take the club to 2 tournaments - it's massive - thank you so much - our next goal is try and bring one of their coaches to the UK to gain more skills and ultimately we want to bring 1 or 2 players of college age across to the UK and find a college place & housing whilst also learning more rugby skills with canterbury RFC
