Story
Our son David was born in the Philippines with Transposition of the great arteries while on vacation.
He was sent between hospitals for more diagnosis, each time we had to pay before they let him go, already I'd spent £100s and not a lot done except medicine tests and overnight stays.
My wife was taken to Manila Heart Hospital in an ambulance 150 miles away, immediately they requested funds upfront for a Arterial Switch, cost of £12000 plus expenses which we could not afford.
David was a blue baby and we were told he mightn't survive another 7 days, I had to raise immediate cash in England by borrowing from family and friends, my money was tied up in our house.
As time was running out, the surgeon offered David a temporary operation (Balloon Septostomy) £6000 including fees, which would keep him alive until he got to Londons Great Ormond St Hospital
At the same time I had to apply for Davids birth certificate and passport at the British Embassy, which was also in Manila and included overnight stays which also ran into a lot of money including flights.
Once back in the U.K. David had a (Senning Operation) at GOSH at 1 year old.
When back in the UK we downsized our home (Rather we bought one up north DN32) That was the worst mistake and was singled out by young chavs who wrecked our car, racially abuse the wife and kept coming to our door asking for money, real intimidation, police were powerless as they were kids.
After a year we had enough and advertised it but could not sell due to the area, we accepted an auction starting bid of £40,000 and lost £30,000 on the sale.
We rented for years using all the money and then lost my job due to my own health PVD of lower limbs, showing narrowed arteries in my legs.
I am asking for any contribution however small, just to help us get back to normal. Thank you
