Story

On Saturday 26th November, John Worrall and I are sleeping rough on the streets of Atherton to raise money for Atherton & Leigh Shelter for HoPe.

Shockingly, the number of people sleeping on our streets has doubled in just FIVE years and more than 120,000 children across Britain face spending this Christmas homeless and in temporary accommodation. I'm sure you'll agree that this is totally unacceptable and something HAS to be done.

That's why we're doing this, to not only see first hand what it's like to be homeless albeit for one night but to help those in our local community who have fallen on hard times and need a helping hand to get back on their feet.

Please donate whatever you can and together, we can make a difference. All donations will be greatly received, no matter how big or small.

We did it 😀 The money YOU have donated will go a long way in funding the running of the night shelter at Etherstone Street in Leigh, which, from 3rd January, will bring 15 homeless people in out of the cold. I can't thank you enough for all your generous donations and kind words of support. We never had a target in mind when we started, so to raise as much as we have has blown us away! Our aims were to raise awareness of homelessness and to raise as much money as we could; i'd like to think we've done both 😀
