Story

On January 26th 2019, myself and a number of others will be taking part in a sleepout - sleeping outside in the cold, winter night to help raise awareness of homelessness and hopefully to raise money to help support those in need. The money raised will be split between two great causes:

1. Sleepsafe is based in Selby and is raising money with the aim of acquiring a piece of land in the outskirts of the town. This will act as a central hub for the charity with the aim of also providing temporary accommodation and shelter via the use of a converted shipping container. This will provide a bed, a place to eat, and washing facilities for those in need.

2. The Chatterbox Community Cafe gives the opportunity for volunteers to gain real life experience in the workplace, whilst providing training and professional qualifications across a range of skills to help individuals find paid employment.

The money raised will be split 50/50 between the two causes, with the aim of providing help and support to those in the local area who are vunerable or just need a helping hand.

Any donations would be gratefully received, thank you in advance and wish me luck!!
