Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.
David Gardiner was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in August 2016. David is married to Tracey and they have three children, Aimee, Jak & Aaron.
We initially set up a fundraising page to help towards the cost of a fantastic family holiday for the family to create everlasting memories - this was achieved and they had an amazing holiday to Florida in October 2016.
The time has now come for the family home to be adapted in preparation for David's mobility issues. The house needs to be adapted to make it wheelchair accessible and the installation of a wet room is also going to be required. Whilst the local council help towards some of these costs, they only provide a proportion of funding towards the installation of a wetroom. They provide no help towards converting the house to create a bedroom downstairs which of course David will need so desperately.
