I'm raising £11,000 for Charlies operation on both front legs .

Here is his heartbreaking story.

Charlie hasnt had the best start in life , his home environment wasn’t the right place for him and he had escaped previously on a few occasions.

Sadly he was returned to the home but things didn’t work out so Charlie was taken in a car down a country road and literally thrown out of the car in the pouring rain😢

The car then drove off at a speed and left him there , confused, scared, alone and dripping wet.

He is still only a puppy and did not deserve this treatment.

Thankfully someone witnessed this and stopped their car and immediately went over to Charlie and picked him up reassuring him.

He was taken to a vet to be checked over and scanned where it became obvious that his front legs were badly deformed.

Charlie served his legal days and obviously wasnt claimed .

He was released and signed over to myself at Spaniel Assist Rescue & Rehoming at this point.

I have been liaising with the vet as they took xrays of his legs.

The results came back that he has an angular limb deformity, and looks to be significant elbow incongruency secondary to this.

They have advised referring Charlie to a specialist for a forelimb CT to look at the elbow incongruency to see how severe this is , then a proximal Ulna Osteotomy will be needed -Angular limb correction.

This could be a genetic disorder or an injury ( Trauma)

For example if a growth plate is injured in a growing dog then it might stop growing and cause the bone to become shortened and bent.

We do not know for sure obviously.

The vet has given the cost of the Forelimb CT as £1850

Then surgery would be required that would be an additional cost of approximately £11,000

We have to go ahead with the op as Charlie deserves a chance to be happy and run around like a Spaniel.

I will be raising funds for the operation which needs to be done within the next 2 weeks.

He is safe in an excellent foster home , and will receive the very best care and love .

Despite the cruelty he has suffered he is learning to trust
