Stephen is a 17 and is diagnosed with learning difficulties, ADHD and has also a rare Chromosome disorder which states hes the only individual in the UK to have this. Stephen has had many obstetrical within life with his disabilities which had stopped him engaging in certain activities. As Stephen is the oldest individual in the world to have been diagnosed with the rare chromosome disorder we do not know what the future holds for Stephen. when the opportunity came to take part in the special Olympics in Sheffield next year we wanted to do everything in our power to get him there.
Stephen was chosen to represent team GB in boccia out of all the northeast region after being noticed from a sport group he attended within his special needs school.
We the family would appreciate any support through funding to help Stephen and ourselves travel to and from Sheffield where the special Olympics is held and accommodation. Also funding that is raised will help Stephen with existing fees toward the special Olympics and any other necessities he would need for the games such as uniform.
