The head shaving will be 'with a difference' for Greyhound Rescue to support the ongoing costs to try and get as many dogs rehomed and brought into a safe place as possible.

I will also be made to look like a 'Unicorn' (dedicated to 'Quina', one of the horses here who has had and is still having a 2 year battle with a severe case of laminitis. She is a true fighter and Karen who has been know as 'Mrs Greyhound' for years adores Quina and has nursed her back to health against all odds....Karen is amazing with all her animals.

The funds we raise is for the greyhounds in our care, for food, vets bills & ongoing care & support as we are struggling as so many are needing homes and we have a lot of older dogs in who cannot be rehomed due to trauma or illness.

Stand Up Harry (racing name) or Harry as he was known here at the rescue, we found him collapsed one morning due to an old racing injury. He ended up paralyzed from the neck down and could not even wag his tail...we did try to save this boy but nearly £3000 later he was put to sleep. He was the most gentle kind soul and this shook my world. He was due to be re-homed with his kennel mate Bonnie. It also had a devastating effect on her, resulting in her staying with us for recovery herself....she has now finally been re-homed with Nipper.

For over 38 years this rescue has cared for & rehomed so many greyhounds & saved so many from such a horrible outcome, after all, they have given their all to the greyhound industry..Yet now many are being exported to Spain/Pakistan & China for the meat trade after their careers end here and in Ireland, all for a terrible end. We need to raise more awareness and help get more through the rescue to help stop this shocking abuse.

I have lovely long hair now and my mum is going to go mad with me so if you all want to see my mums reaction too....you know what to do!!! Just a little donation! It all helps!
