Story
Dawsons Academy of Dance and Stage is based in Bolton town centre and has been welcoming children through it's doors since 1987, with classes in all forms of Dance, Musical Theatre, Drama and Singing, there's always something happening there. The Academy has always strived to give the best to it's pupils and help them reach their goals, with many of them having gone on to train and work professionally on Stage and Screen- a fact that the academy is extremely proud of. If the walls could talk they would tell of countless happy memories, lifelong friendships formed and many a rigorous show rehearsal or exam class!
Unfortunately these days the walls are looking a little less polished than they once were and the floors in particular are in need of replacement. Having been in the same building since 1987 you can of course expect some wear and tear, and there eventually comes a point where a lick of paint and a new carpet doesn't quite do the trick. The school is now at this point and unfortunately despite best efforts, the usual ways of fundraising aren't enough to raise the amount that we need. The school really suffered financially during the covid lockdown, and has been fighting to keep afloat ever since (and so far so good it is still going- just about!) But this along with the current cost of living crisis and ever rising bills, means the money just isn't there at the moment, and we are having to reach out for wider help on some things.
So we are asking for help with donations for a new dance floor in our two smaller studios that we so desperately need. We are very proud of our genuinely brilliant teaching staff and our amazing pupils, and we want to create a school that reflects this within it's surroundings, and make sure that Dawsons Academy keeps being a special place for children for another 36 years and beyond! Any kind of donations will be so very gratefully received.
