I've raised £2000 to Daylight Music Autumn/Winter 2024

Daylight Music wouldn’t be here without you - the community of musicians, artists, volunteers and music fans who fill the pews or stage each week.
In what continues to be a challenging time for live music we once again open a Crowdfunder to continue the fundraising for our Winter Season in 2024/2025.
‘With music venues closing down across the country (an average of two grassroots venues closed permanently every week in 2023), the need for Daylight is more urgent than ever. Reimagining spaces for live music, curating thought provoking & diverse lineups, offering a platform for emerging artists/labels across genres - these alone are reasons why the programme is so vital to the music community...Daylight’s secret ingredient is that it doesn’t pander to a specific age group or demographic. It’s a celebration of music - enjoyed by all.’ – Johnny Lynch (Pictish Trail)
We have been lucky that the series has been supported once again by an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants but this cannot be our only source of income we have to find money from multiple source whether that be from café profits, fundraising tea towel, membership schemes or this our most direct way of support our crowdfunder series .
Obviously don’t just take our word for why our series matters; let’s hear from some of the recent audiences who experienced our series:
'Welcoming, Timely, Haunting, Intriguing' - Chris from Faversham
'I love how inclusive Daylight Music is. There are not enough opportunities to expose children to good music that are so welcoming and unpatronising' - Galia from Bethnal Green
A recap now for 15 years and 370-something outings, Arctic Circle's Daylight Music has been ‘there’ in the background supporting London’s live music scene, with its constantly evolving mix of music, delicious cake (something for everyone with vegan and gluten free options), and iconic and welcoming spaces. It has been featured regularly in Time Out’s 101 Things To Do in London and cited in The Rough Guide to Make the Most of Your Time in Britain.
We need to raise money in advance for hiring the venue, bringing in a sound system with a van to transport it and an experienced engineer, who will set up and pack down. Then there are all the weeks of preparation, the costs of design, media and website. We also want to make sure we can financially compensate our musicians for their time and transport, which cannot always come from the Pay-What-You-Can door entry.
'For music discovery beyond the hype machine there is nothing like Daylight Music' - Jeremy from High Wycombe
Once again we turn to you our and ask if you can help directly support our series. This help allow us to continue, plan and dream and bring you are series in our 15th year and planning beyond.
Thanks for reading and supporting,
Ben Eshmade (Arctic Circle’s Daylight Music)
