Weʼre raising £500 to fund heating and essential resources for a Special Needs School in Peru.

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Recently, I travelled to Peru with the main objective of volunteering at CEBE DON JOSE DE SAN MARTIN. This is a Special Needs School in Cusco. The majority of pupils suffer from autism, down syndrome, deafness and disability.
March to December are the coldest, most agonising months of the year in Cusco. During these months, the attendance rate of pupils significantly drops because their immune systems are too weak to withstand the cold weather conditions. The government is unable to fund a sustainable solution for heating, and the teachers cannot afford to buy heaters due to the low salary they receive.
With £500, I will be able to fund the following resources for 4 classes:
1. 4 mobile heaters
To heat the coldest rooms for the children who have the weakest immune systems.
2. 4 large bottles of body lotion/cream
To improve the condition of all the children suffering from dry, flaky skin as a consequence of the biting cold.
3. 4 large bottles of sun screen
To protect the skin of the children from the strong solar radiation. Cusco has a high altitude so radiation from the sun is powerful and dangerous.
4. 4 large bottles of toothpaste
One for each classroom.
5. 40 toothbrushes
One for each child in each of the 4 classes. Many of them do not brush their teeth at home because their parents cannot afford the resources or do not have time to brush the teeth of their children.
The heaters are a one-off purchase for each class, and the bottles of creams will need to be repurchased on a yearly basis. With your help, we can provide the school with immediate access to these urgent resources.
They do not have regular, sustainable support, so the school and I would really appreciate any donations in order to fund a sustainable programme to ensure that the school has access to basic and urgent resources.
