Danielle Buick Academy of Theatre Arts is a Dance school in Oxfordshire that was established February 2012 starting off with just 12 students. Over the course of just under 9 years the school has grown to 170 students and 5 teachers. DBATA is more than a dance school, it’s a family and we need your help and support to keep dancing together! Like many other dance schools DBATA was affected by the coronavirus however, despite being able to return, we are now faced with another problem of an unsafe dance space. Our home for the past 6 years has been deemed unsafe and not fit for purpose. This is now our 4th venue that has had time and money spent on it, only to then be told we have to move on and find somewhere else. Although we have no doubt we will be able to find another temporary home for the school, what we really need is a permanent place to call home.

Dance is so important to so many of our families. Not only is it good for physical health but also mental wellbeing. For many of the students, this is a safe space away from the pressures and stresses of every day life. DBATA is not just a dance school it is truly one big family where everyone supports each other and helps each other through the hard times. Dance is also great for children's social skills, building confidence and self esteem, making friends, improving memory as well as many physical benefits.

Miss Danielle is the Principle of the school. She is an amazing teacher who is dedicated to the school and all of her students. Despite her many personal challenges over the past 6 years, Danielle has always put the dance school and her students first. She is like a second mum to most of the children who absolutely adore her. She always turns up with a smile on her face and puts in 110%.

As a dance school we will be completing a 24 hour danceathon to help raise money for our permanent home. The money raised will go towards purchasing and furnishing the new dance school. Finally a place to call home.

Please donate anything you can, to help get our forever home.

    Lots of Love, DBATA
