Nala is a 7 month old Pug cross.

After a vet appointment was made for a check up on Thursday 26th July 2018, the vets informed us that Nala was a hermaphrodite and needed a spay ASAP which we booked and paid for on 28th August 2018. During the spay vets found the ovaries were testicular like tissue and her cervix was shorter than normal.

Nala also has a penis showing from her vulva. This needs investigating and correcting as regards to urinating and long-term implications that could arise, such as infections etc

Direct line has refused payment due to the condition being pre-existing. Nala is now not covered for any other future treatments that may occur from the same health issue. Without treatment this means Nala will be vulnerable to infection and future complications as she grows and develops due to only being a puppy.

This has caused us great upset and concern regarding Nala's health and future wellbeing. As responsible pet owners we have taken great care in providing good health care making sure insurance and care plans are in place to provide our loving pet with the best future, knowing all her needs are catered for and with her best interest in mind.

We feel Direct line has been unfair in their decisions and have left our pet in great jeopardy.
