I’m raising money for two youth charities that are a huge part of my life and work: Patchwork in Benwell, Newcastle, and Ocean Road Centre in South Shields.

Patchwork supported me as a young person and helped shape the person and youth worker I became. I’m now proud to be one of its trustees.

At Ocean Road, I now get to put that experience into practice, working with some brilliant young people in South Shields.

One organisation helped shape me; the other is where I now get to do the work I care about.

I’m taking on the Rat Race Sea to Summit Ben Nevis on Saturday 10 October — a 28-mile ultra with over 5,400ft of ascent — and I’d love to turn the challenge into something positive for young people in both communities.
