Story

After receiving the devastating news of Debbies sudden and unexpected death we as her work family on the Surgical Day Case Unit would like to raise the funds for a memorial bench at Wicksteed Park.

Debbie, or Chappers as she was so fondly called by some, had worked for the NHS at Kettering General Hospital for over 20 years. Firstly as a Healthcare Assistant on the Deene floor before successfully completing her Assistant Practitioners course. Wanting to further her career she embarked on her Student Nurse training. Undoubtedly Debbie would have passed this flying colours. Her commitment, caring nature, hard work and sense of humour was present in every role she carried out.

After a stressful week of everything being thrown at her Debbie found relaxation and peace fishing at the lake at Wicksteed Park with her husband Andrew. We all enjoyed listening to her fishing tales whether it be catching a huge fish or a terrapin! This bench will provide a lasting tribute to Debbie and a place for all those who knew and loved her to sit, remember and reminisce.
