    Story

The RCT Tigers was formed in 2008 to provide sporting opportunities for disabled children in RCT. My son Rhys, was critically ill in 1998 when he had viral encephalitis. He was resuscitated 3 times and was in a coma for 12 days. When he woke up, he had no movement down the left side of his body. He was described as a "hopeless case". He was left with a left side Hemiplegia , left field vision neglect, epilepsy, memory and emotional problems. He was sports mad, but felt left out growing up. Joining the RCT Tigers not only changed his life, it gave him one. This is where it all started for Rhys. He is currently in Rio where he has represented GB at his second Paralympic Games, but this is not what I mean. Before joining the club, he had no confidence, low self esteem and no independence. He had no real friends. Since joining the club, it has transformed his life. One of his team mates, who could not look me in the eye or hold a conversation is now the Head Coach! This pan disability football club has helped to transform the lives of so many children and young adults within RCT, but they need funds to continue to help others to fulfill their dreams. I will be spending my birthday this year on a sponsored walk along the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal and would be grateful if you could help change the lives of so many more people. Thank you

Thank you to everyone who has so kindly donated to the RCT Tigers sponsored walk. We have raised £205 on here and also received well over £100 in cash. It will help buy equipment for the club, but the day was much more than that. Allen, Ellen and I have had a great day with our friends and that is what the club is all about. Providing a friendly environment where our children are accepted and included. It's been a great birthday 😊
