I am calling this "There's something about Sophie"
There truly is something about Sophie. Sophie was a passenger in a car accident with a hefty milk tanker in our local area of Denbighshire recently. Whilst she is extremely lucky to be alive, she faces a long road to recovery. This has been a major blow to all her family and friends, and her parents are beside themselves. Sophie was taken to Stoke hospital where she remains for now on the critical ward for acute rehab patients. They have all been amazing to say the least. Sophie's dad has Cancer too,(as if the family don't have enough to deal with) her parents Sue and Dennis are staying in a local travel lodge to be with their daughter day and night, they have not yet returned home. I am hoping this page will help them with the costs of the travel lodge as well as helping Sophie get back on her feet. She had an MRI scan that did not show signs of stroke, but she has been left with stroke like symptoms, and is unknown if she will recover from them fully at this stage. She does not remember her family home and has no idea what her own bedroom is like, in fact she can't remember quite a lot of things, counting numbers,letters of the alphabet, things we take for granted daily. She can't remember some of her friends, which must be heart breaking for all. Sophie faces a very long road to recovery and I am hoping that through the power of social media and the fantastic friends and family she has we can raise some money to help them all during this very painful journey they are faced with.
I went to see Sophie yesterday and she was telling me she wants to do a fundraising event to raise money for the ward she is currently on, this is typical of this girl, always thinking of others, no matter what. She's truly amazing.
