Story
My beautiful mum passed away after a short but brutal battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was my absolute world and I want to do what I can to try and prevent others from going through the same devastation.
More than half the people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within three months, and it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers. (www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk)
I will be undertaking a series of challenges to raise money that we can share amongst a few charities that my mum would have chosen to support, or that can help others going through similar situations.
Any money raised from my challenges will be split between pancreatic cancer charities to support early diagnosis; the number one way to improve these awful statistics. I'd also love to include a donation to Strathcarron Hospice who provided her palliative care and gave her much comfort and relief when she needed it most.
No page about my mum would be complete without mentioning her love of dogs, and our fridge is still covered in pictures of pups that she sponsored through Guide Dogs and Dogs' Trust, so I would love to raise enough money to give them a wee donation in her name too.
