    Story

    Dear Friends,

On August 22, while in Edinburgh, Wyckham suffered a very serious cardiac arrest. His heart stopped for a period of time and he was revived by paramedics. He has spent the last several days in a medically-induced coma at Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary Hospital, where he is receiving the greatest care. They begun to wake Wyckham up yesterday, and there are several encouraging signs. He is now breathing on his own and is following basic commands. It will be some time until we know the full extent of his condition.

Wyckham decided to delay his trip home and like many musicians didn’t have medical insurance, which is a very unfortunate situation. And as a result, we are taking on the responsibility of having to pay for his life-saving care. We are reaching out to you for help in this time of crisis, and if you’ve received this message then it’s likely that you have been touched by Wyckham in some way. Perhaps his music has moved you; his wit, hockey commentary, food, company, or his unyielding creative thought.

Any contribution (large or small) will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way in supporting Wyckham in his time of greatest need. We also so appreciate all the loving messages of concern and care we have received, and know your prayers and good wishes are all a part of Wyckham’s journey home. Thank you.

Please pass on as you see fit.

    With love,

    Wyck's family

      Update from the Page owner

Dear Friends, We wanted to give a HUGE note of thanks for everyone's generosity, love and best wishes. As some of you will know, Wyckham is now back in Vancouver where he continues to recover. It will be some time before he is able to reach out and thank everyone personally. But in the mean time, he wanted us to offer a wee message: "Thanks for your care and effort...it has meant a great deal to me and the family. love Wyck." Go well, Caleb, Deb, Patti and Jorah

Wyckham, Patti and Jorah have made it safely back to Vancouver where Patti's sister Louise is helping everyone get settled in -- thank you Louise! We're hoping to get Wyck hooked into the system in Vancouver and beginning the next phase of his treatment and recovery. A huge thank you to everyone who has loved and supported us through this very difficult time. x

Fabulous news to relay--Wyckham is home recouperating at Caleb and Deb's place in Edinburgh, where Patti and Jorah are also staying. We are so grateful! He's improving everyday and has asked us to relay his thanks to everyone for all their love and support. While he improves daily, it will likely be a long time before he is well enough to communicate with you all via email, phone, facebook, etc. Next step, getting home to Canada for further treatment. Thank you so much and love to you all!

Thank you so much for all the love, we feel it!, `yesterday in a moment of lucidity Wyckham told us that `"he felt very very close to everyone over the course of that last few days``. Today Wyckham had further testing to assess damage and continues to regain his sense of what happened. Wyckham's personality and sense of humour is returning each day. Despite the crises, he often has the nurses laughing. We continue to be amazed and deeply moved by your genenerosity.
