Story

I was heartbroken last July when I heard about Lucy Moroney's diagnosis of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) it's an inoperable brain tumour that cuts short the lives of so many children around the world. I have a daughter of a similar age and couldn't begin to imagine what Lucy and her poor family were going through. I was in total shock to hear that another little girl from the Wirral, Edie Molyneux was also diagnosed with the same condition as Lucy just a few months after Lucy's diagnosis.

I took up running in February 2017 and joined a beginners running club in July of the same year. (UTS Hoylake) At 53 and slightly overweight the decision to run a marathon was not an easy one to make. The thought of being able to raise money for both Lucy and Edie is definitely keeping me motivated. I'm sure that once friends and family start to support me, it will spur me on. I have a long way to go, please help me by donating as much or as little as you can afford. The Marathon is at Chester on 7th October 2018. All donations received will be equally shared between the two families.
