Story
My Dad, Paul Sparks passed away on Christmas Day 2020 and we would like to raise some funds for a local cause, something that Dad had an interest in. Message in a Bottle (known within the Lions as MIAB), and ‘Message in a Wallet’ helps emergency services personnel to save valuable time in identifying an individual very quickly and knowing if they have any allergies or take special medication. It particularly helps vulnerable and the elderly. It is a project whereby people record their basic personal and medical details and store it in a plastic bottle, in their fridge. Emergency services can then look for the bottle if they are called to the house and they are alerted to its existence by two stickers, 1 on the inside of the front door and 1 on the fridge. We are raising funds for the Winterton and District Lions who are providing this scheme across the local area where Dad lived.
