Story

Hi there!

Thank you for taking a look at this page.

I am a graduate from London and live with my mum. I won‘t be posting any pictures as I would like to keep our identity secret.

I have a long-term chronic health condition which makes it difficult to work and lead a normal life, but I do work full-time. I also have anxiety and depression, which I can feel getting worse due to my current circumstances. My money problems began at univeristy as I didn’t have the energy to work 16hrs a week and study full-time. I managed to achieve a high 2:1 but had to ask the university to fund my graduation, despite having work at univeristy and when I went home.

My mum has had issues with debt, whether it’s outstanding bills, credits cards or baliffs at our front door, for as long as I can remember. She sacrificed a lot to bring up myself and my brother, and just about makes ends meet now. We always have food on the table, but can rarely afford luxuries even though we both work full-time.

I feel like it’s just getting worse. We get a step closer to paying things off, then there’s interest, an emergency or need to replace worn-out essentials we’ve had for years like bed clothes, towels or cutlery.

I have £4,200 in overdrafts, around £3,000 in payday loans and £1,000 in credit cards to pay off. It’s a near-impossible task alone.

I would appreciate any amount you can give so that we can escape this debt trap. We would like to spruce up our flat a little, buy dining chairs that match and make our environment less depressing.

Thank you so much for reading.
