Hello, and a warm welcome to everyone who has joined the page recently.

As many of you know, I began DECADE 77-87 just over a year ago. It was my attempt to try to recapture some of the excitement felt when opening up the weekly music papers (NME, Melody Maker, Sounds, etc.) to read reviews and interviews with bands that mattered (and still do) – all from that marvellously rich and innovative period from 1977 to 1987.

What I begin, you take forward by posting such wonderful responses – whether a shared memory of buying a single or attending the same gig. Thank you; the page would mean little without your contributions.

Running the page is a one-man operation. I write and research the articles, and edit the videos, often reinventing them entirely. This takes almost an entire day of unpaid work. If you could see fit to make a small donation then I would be genuinely grateful.
