I've raised £1500 to help Boo get new hips. 🥶 December Dips for Boo’s Hips! 😍

🥶 December Dips for Boo’s Hips! 😍
Meet Boo. An adorable Neapolitan mastiff puppy, Boo was born in a rescue centre, and adopted by my good friend, Paul, when she was only 12 weeks old.
Paul is a devoted animal lover, and has a heart of gold. He regularly fosters dogs, and has cared for 6 dogs over the past 3 years. Paul had the choice of the rescue litter; he chose and named tiny Boo because she was so timid, and seemed scared of her own shadow.
As time passed, Boo grew, and grew, and grew... and Paul realised that Boo was in fact part Great Dane! Beautiful Boo is now 16 months old, and Paul describes her as devoted, friendly, loving, vigilant and loyal.
However, recently Paul noticed that Boo was beginning to exhibit uncharacteristic behaviours, and a trip to the vets revealed that poor Boo is in excruciating pain, and she needs to have both hips replaced.
The insurance company won’t pay for the operation, and Boo is so young. She deserves to live the rest of her life without pain. Paul is doing fundraising efforts of his own, to raise £12,000 to pay for the operation. (Originally quoted £16,000, it’s a testament to Paul’s dedication to Boo that he has managed to find a very experienced orthopaedic surgeon who is prepared to do Boo’s operation for a discount.)
As a fellow animal lover, I want to do what I can to help Boo get the surgery that she so desperately needs.
So, I have decided to brave the North Sea in December, and do sponsored “dips” for Boo’s hips! And as Boo has two poorly hips, I shall do two separate dips, on different days. Those of you that know me know that I have a number of health issues, including cancer-related fatigue, however I am determined to do this to help out my friend Paul and his lovely Boo. Unlike those brave souls that do the Boxing Day dip, I can’t guarantee on which day I will be well enough to do my dips for Boo’s hips, but on the two days that I am able, I shall ask a friend to film my efforts and post them on Facebook for your entertainment. Just so we are clear, the definition of a “dip” is a complete immersion under the water. Joy.
So, I am asking you to please sponsor me for whatever you can afford, to help raise the money that Boo needs so that she can get her total hip replacement, and enjoy a long and happy pain-free life with Paul. And thank you. For those of you wondering, yes, there are many cancer charities, and I am grateful to those who support them, but the plight of this poor dog has touched my heart, and I want to do what I can to help her. Thank you.
BREAKING NEWS!!! My fabulous husband, Chris Carley, has just said that if I can raise over £500, he will do the dips with me... please make this happen!!! 😈 Thank you.
