Some of you may know Alex for a multitude of reasons. For those who don’t know Alex, let us tell you a bit about what he’s done for the community.

Alex had been a long serving labour politician of Flintshire County Council, serving as mayor in 2007. During his time, his passion was always to provide youth support for those without opportunity to grow. To do this, Alex taught kids how to box to reduce antisocial behaviour. This taught kids self-defence and the importance of respect towards others.

Here at Flint Mountain Park Hotel, we know Alex as a kind-hearted man. You would find him in our bar with a coffee, helping Teddy (our maintenance man) or driving his tractor to cut our Fairways. He has done so much for our business, without any malicious intentions. Now it is time for us to pay him back.

Alex has recently suffered with a stroke that has affected the left side of his body. Due to this, he is currently being taken care of in Deeside Hospital. We would like to raise money for the stroke unit in Deeside on behalf of Alex. They have cared for him and made him feel as though there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all of this treatment.

To raise money, we are holding a day for Alex. On the 13th of September Yan and a few friends are cycling from Old Trafford to Mountain Park, hoping to get back around 12/1pm to kickstart “Alex’s Fun Day”. This Fun Day will consist of what Alex loves most, people getting together, listening to some live music and having fun! If you would like to join the cycle, give us a call for more info
