Story
Being a parent can be absolutely amazing but sometimes it can feel lonely and an uphill challenge. Add depression or anxiety into the mix and everything can become quickly become overwhelming.
Lincoln PANDAS is a small group of mums with hands on experience of Post Natal Depression who provide a safe, welcoming and warm environment for other mums facing the daily challenge of living with depression. In February Lincoln PANDAs will be a year old. In this time we have brought together mums who are going through the same challenges so that they can chat to somebody that understands and recognises that 'it's okay not to be okay', that they are not on their own.
Currently we facilitate a support group, stay and play session and social media pages and last year delivered an event with Mark Williams focusing on Paternal Postnatal Depression and attended events around Lincoln to raise awareness.
We want to continue to do this and more. Parents have suggested that what is needed is; support for dads with PND, support for partners, increased access to information and signposting to resources and services through a dedicated website and to continue raising awareness in the community and with professionals. But to do this we need to fundraise so on April 7th 2019 I will be walking the Lincoln 10k.
We would really appreciate and thank you for any support you can give; for updates and to find out more about what we do come find us on Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/lincolnPND/ or follow us on Instagram; lincolnpandas
