This year the Parish Council would like to provide a defibrillator for Shaw-cum-Donnington parishioners to use in a medical emergency. Fully accessible 24/7, the plan is to locate it outside the Village Hall. In the middle of a residential area, with a vibrant community of use, the hall is an ideal location for this lifesaving device. A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone - anywhere. Immediate treatment is vital. A person’s chance of survival dramatically decreases for every minute without treatment and a defibrillator is only effective if it’s close at hand and ready to work. The cost to purchase and install our defibrillator in its tamperproof cabinet is approximately £2,200.00 and the good news is that we have already raised £1,200.00 towards this target.
