    Story

My name is Samuel (Danny) Cole, and I need your help, to purchase a standing wheelchair. Your support will be greatly appreciated. I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease on 7th March 2012 after falling at work on the 3rd October 2011. I am fully dependent on my family, friends and carers, to help me live a full filled life. I communicate via a computer and feed via a rig.

I am married to my wife Dena for 28 years, July 9th. We have 3 lovely children, Natasha 26yrs, Ashley 25yrs and Jamaen 22yrs.

MND has impacted on the whole family, living each day is a blessing, and storing memories, as the condition is so unpredictable.

Prior to being diagnosed, I was a behavioural mentor at an all girls school. I loved my job, and being in a position where I could make a difference, was so rewarding. I am an ordained Pastor, and I still get the opportunity, using my computer, to empower people to believe in themselves.

My wife and children have carried themselves with such grace and dignity, even when I know they don't have much. I am blessed to have them all in my life. I will never really know, how MND has changed them all.

Having a standing wheelchair, I would be able to have eye to eye contact with family, friends and my staff, enabling me to gain back some of my independence to live my life the way I want too. Travelling further with comfort, and knowing if I need to stand, or to stretch, I will be able to by using my standing wheelchair. Not having to worry about finding a hoist for pressure relief. The wheelchair with improve my breathing, bladder & bowels, and help with my circulation. Just to stand!

Your support to achieve this, would be an amazing part of my journey. Standing is what I want to do, and having tried the wheelchair, all my hopes and dreams are to own one, to better my life.

Thanking you all in advance, for your support on this journey to own my very own standing wheelchair.

    Thank you

I don't have any income at the moment so I'm sorry I can't give more but Danny always made my day and I was devastated when I heard he'd fallen so ill. All the love and happiness in the world to you x
