Story
Hi, my name is Denise and I'm HSCT ready! Let me explain but, before I do, I'd just like to say a great big Thank You for visiting my fundraising page.
Thanks to all the donations we have already received we have raised £4,936.75! Just £55,063.75 to go!
So, it all started when I was diagnosed with MS 8 years ago, totally out of the blue. It wasn't quite the present I was expecting for my 50th birthday.
I have a condition that has no cure, that is unpredictable, for which there is no treatment, that could (and did, within 4 years) put you in a wheelchair; a condition that could (and has) change your life as you know it forever. You'd maybe think that is pretty unlucky? But the worst part is learning to adapt your whole lifestyle, living with that illness as it cripples your functionality, so you can't write that birthday card to your best friend, can't flick through the pages of your favourite magazine, hold a cup of tea, so you have to rely on your friends to cut up your food in the restaurant on a night out with the girls, so you can't just jump in the car to go get your hair done. It eats away, relentlessly, at your independence, stops you taking care of your family, your home, your job, even yourself.
And so this is where you come in. You, my Hero, my Good Samaritan. Because now there is a treatment available that could stop this destroyer of lives in its tracks. All I need is to raise the funds – no small sum; £60,000. The treatment itself is around £46,000. The bi-monthly injections of Rituximab, post-treatment are £1,000 each and I may need 5. Then there are flights, extra caregiver help to get me onto the bus to and from the clinic while the chemotherapy is doing its job and, intensive physio when I return home. Any funds left over, I would donate to a fellow MS’er so they have a chance.
But none of it will happen without your kindness, your generosity, without your gift of a donation. The gift of making my life liveable again.
I am so very grateful.

Hi, I'm Denise. I have Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. For 8 yrs this disease has done its best to get the better of me. This treatment will help me fight it. It will stop the relentless, disabling, crippling effect it's having on my body. Please, could you help give me a chance?
